Battle of the Bulge: Fat Chance

Warning:  RANT

Wasn't it just a couple of weeks ago that I was saying, "Yay!  I'm eating better!  I think it's going to stick this time?" Ha.  I have gotten out of my "good rut," and back into the old one.  I started thinking (more deep thoughts), maybe if I "go public," and let you all know that I'm back fighting the battle, I will feel somewhat constrained to stick to my plan...  I'm going to eat right, I'm going to exercise, blah blah blah.   It seems like when you tell those you know what your plan is, you have more incentive to stick to it... if someone asks, "Are you eating better?" How embarrassing would it be to say, "Nope" when you'd just told that person you were going to.

I'm not disgustingly huge (yet...), but I want to defeat this small foe before we have babies...  I don't want to start "in the hole," so to speak.  After I have kids, I don't want to have to lose the baby weight plus the weight that I should have lost before I got pregnant.

Sorry for this rant!  If anyone else is trying to lose a few pounds and wants to be "accountability buddies," please let me know!

Well, I already lost all the baby weight I gained with my son (40 pounds if you can believe that!) but even though I'm back to the same weight, everything's sort of "redistributed"... so some of my clothes still don't fit! Oh, well! My little boy is worth it :~)

I have to say, if I try to lose anymore, I do believe my family and friends would have a fit! But, I commend you for posting your goal and trying to get some accountability partners. :) And, if you really want me to, I can bug you every once in a while and see how you're doing with your goals :~) AND, I don't think you look as if you need to lose ANY weight!

Okay, that's really all I had to say, hehehe!

Hey it's much better to take care of the problem while it's small then to let it get out of hand and he 35 like me and have a huge problem to deal with.

Jump back on the wagon and try again!

That is the same way I feel! I want to loose a few extra pounds before I have children. I'm afraid that when I get pregnant I will blow up like a baloon! I don't think that I'll be conceiving soon since marriage comes first . . . but it's never to early to start loosing weight.

As a mom of four kids, and working on my weight too...I do encourage you--it's not always downhill from childbirth on. I started having kids when I was 25(I am 33) and gained from 25-40 lbs each time...2 kids were 25 lbs(first and last) and two were about 40(middle two). I am now done having my own(had 4 c-sections) and I weigh less(only by a few pounds) than when I started. I still want to loose about 7-10 though.

I told the Lord today that I want to eat right rather than be stuck counting calories on WW(I've been doing this since the last week of September 07). It works, but I feel like I am still a slave to eating!
So, I am jumping on your accountability band-wagon. We could try to post healthy recipes if we come across them??? We could do what Tori has done and add a lb tracker to our blogs???

I'm with ya! I have to say that eating right and exercising is really just "what I do" and I have lost all my baby weight! All 40 pounds of it, gosh! :) And, I am in the best shape that I have ever been in in my life. I am very proud of that. But it's a day-to-day battle!! I know!!
